Sarah Banks is based near Durham and trained as a Socratic Dialogue facilitator in 2011–12 with the Society for the Furtherance of Critical Philosophy (the precursor of Socratic Dialogue UK). She has a background in higher education and an interest in ethics and community participation. She regards Socratic Dialogue as a valuable process for cultivating slow, collaborative and critical thinking in an age of fast, superficial and sometimes thoughtless communication.

Anna Bromley is based in London and has been involved in Socratic Dialogue since 2016, when she met a trustee of the Society while studying for a Master’s degree in Philosophy. She is passionate about critical thinking and ethical inquiry, and values the opportunity to explore important questions with others. She sees Socratic Dialogue as a space for thoughtful reflection on how we live, the decisions we make, and how ethical conversations can be brought into wider society.

Based in Somerset, England, Julie-Marie has been involved with the Society for the Furtherance of Critical Philosophy and Socratic Dialogue UK for over 25 years. They believe Socratic Dialogue creates opportunities for people to explore ideas, question assumptions, and engage in thoughtful discussion about important issues. They see philosophy as a way of encouraging critical thinking, open-mindedness and respectful dialogue, helping people better understand themselves, others and the world around them. They enjoy exploring different perspectives through Socratic Dialogue and supporting activities that make philosophy accessible to a wider audience.

Dieter Krohn has been involved in Socratic Dialogue for several decades and has played a leading role in developing the neo-Socratic tradition in Germany and internationally. As former Chair of the German Society of Socratic Facilitators (GSP), he has facilitated, taught and written extensively on Socratic Dialogue. He regards the dialogue as a collaborative process for exploring philosophical questions, cultivating careful thinking, and developing shared understanding through reasoned inquiry.
